Here is a look at the Sigma 24-105 OS positioned between three other f/4 zoom lenses. The above lenses are, from left to right, in their fully retracted positions, the following: Canon EF 24-70mm f/4 L IS USM Lens Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens Sigma 24-105mm f/4.0 DG OS HSM Art Lens Nikon 24-120mm f/4G AF-S VR Lens

Canon mirrorless system owners have a few options when it comes to a standard zoom lens for an R series mirrorless camera. The RF 24-105mm F4 L IS USM ($1,299) is a midrange option, with a dimmer

The advantages of the Canon 24-105 f/4L IS are smaller size, greater range, image stabilization, and lower cost. The Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 has less distortion and wider apertures. The 24-70 f/4 IS has less distortion and the very nice macro feature.
The Canon TS-E17mm with its protruding front element cannot be used with any normal size filter. The TS-E 24mm (72mm filter) and TS-E24mm mk2 (82mm filter) both take front filters, but these need to be very low profile if the lenses are to be used at full shift. TS-E45mm (72mm filter) and TS-E90mm (58mm filter) can be used with filters.

As it stands, the Canon EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens is a nice lens overall. The size and weight of this lens are easy to handle for long periods of time and the lens shape is comfortable to use. For a moderate price, the 24-105 STM covers the full frame image circle with very good image quality.
