Causes Of Honda Accord Oil Burning. Honda Accord oil-burning may be caused by a number of factors, but the most common is worn valve seals and leaking injectors. If your engine starts to smoke or produce thick black smoke from the exhaust, it’s probably time for a tune-up and/or replacement parts. Driving habits can also contribute to oil

Just a quick question for everyone out there approximately how much Oil consumption would you say is normal for the Honda 2.4L 4Cyl in the Accord and small SUV's. I switched from 5w20 to 5w30 and it has improved some what. Would you say 2 litres every 5000-7000 km is normal? The car has about 140,000 Miles or 230,000 KM.

Aug 31, 2015. #1. Need some help. I did a valve adjust on the gf’s 2007 Accord EX last night. Mileage is 102k. Prior to the adjustment, this engine was very very quiet. But it seemed a bit lacking in power compared to the other 2.4s I’ve driven. Vibration at idle was fine, maybe a bit on the higher side. .
